FREQUENT QUESTIONS

Need a hand?

The questions we get most often, answered plainly.

Verifying

I cannot find a business. Is it in violation?

Not necessarily. Not every municipality publishes its registry yet, and some attestation types are not included. Absence here proves nothing: check with your city.

The attestation shows "expired". What now?

It means the validity date has passed. A renewal may be in progress. If the situation concerns you, report it to your municipality: they hold the power to act.

The QR code does not work

Use your phone camera, no app needed. If nothing opens, search the business name in the home page field: it gives the same result.

Can I verify from my phone, offline?

Consulting the registry requires a connection. The cryptographic proof itself, however, can be verified offline by a third-party tool: the public key travels inside the proof.

Privacy

Are my searches recorded?

No. No account, no profiling, no resale. Registry data is hosted in Québec.

Why are some details not displayed?

Because they are not yours to see, and the law says so before we do. Inspection notes, inspector names, owner contact details: these remain accessible to the authority only.

Reporting

Some information about me is wrong

Write to us: we forward to the issuing authority, which alone can correct the source. You also have a right of rectification, which we apply free of charge.

I suspect a forged attestation

A paper in a window can be fake; the digital proof cannot. If the QR leads nowhere or the name does not match, report it to your municipality.
