About

AccesID, made in Québec for verifiable access.

Our mission, our partners and what sets us apart.

AccesID is Québec's reference for people with disabilities. Our mission: to provide a live map of truly accessible businesses and places, powered by our network of field evaluators and our community.

Our mission

More than one million Canadians live with a functional limitation. Yet information about how accessible businesses really are remains fragmented, sometimes inaccurate, often missing. AccesID changes that with three principles:

  • Field assessments by PromoAccès — not anonymous crowdsourcing, but a network of trained evaluators who walk the streets
  • A clear badge hierarchy — four levels issued by AccesID, from identification to cryptographically verifiable excellence
  • Mobile-first, from Québec — to find the nearest accessible place live, right from the street corner, on your phone

The 4 AccesID badge levels

All badges are issued by AccesID. Each level reflects a different assessment standard.

  • ✨ Recognized — Place identified as accessible through an on-site Quick Scan by PromoAccès. Yes/No/Partial tags on 18 criteria, general photos, ~15 minutes per place.
  • ✓ Verified — Quick Scan confirmed by at least 3 users with consistent photos and reviews. Greater confidence thanks to the community.
  • 🏆 Certified OB3 — Complete Full Audit assessment (48 measured criteria, 45–90 minutes), cryptographically signed Open Badges 3.0 badge, verifiable on any site.
  • 🥇 Excellence — Full Audit score ≥ 90%, renewed every year, an exemplary level of accessibility.

Our main partner: PromoAccès

PromoAccès, led by Arnaud, is our main field assessment partner. For several years, its team has walked the streets of Québec, measuring, photographing and documenting places. The partnership with AccesID turns their assessments into structured data, verifiable badges and reports municipalities can use.

Other AccesID-certified evaluators complete the network and extend our territorial coverage.

What sets us apart

  • vs Kéroul — We are mobile-first, free for users, and our map updates live. Kéroul does wonderful work for accessible tourism, but our approach is complementary and aimed at the general public.
  • vs AccessNow — We are from Québec and French first. Our assessments are not anonymous crowdsourcing: they are signed by identified evaluators. Our Certified OB3 badges are cryptographically verifiable — not just labels.
  • What we offer — Live geolocation, advanced filters by specific need (entrance, washrooms, parking, signage, etc.), community photos, problem reporting, and a dashboard for business districts and municipalities.

For businesses

Would you like an AccesID badge? Request an assessment. Depending on your level, you can earn a Recognized badge (Quick Scan, from $0) or a Certified OB3 badge (Full Audit, $249/year) to display in your storefront and on your website.

For municipalities and business districts

AccesID offers territorial partnerships. PromoAccès assesses your territory; AccesID gives you the dashboard, the report for your municipal accessibility plan, and communication tools. Let's talk.

A Québec platform, designed here

AccesID is developed in Québec, in French, in collaboration with field evaluators and people with disabilities. We comply with Québec's Law 25 on the protection of personal information and host all data in Canada.

Does your municipality or business want to take part?

Book 20 minutes: we will look together at which attestations to publish, and how to make them verifiable.
